Make sure you up the amount of stretching and icing you do and it may help a little bit.
                                                                                                
Yeah that’s exactly what I have been doing.  I have a bag of mixed frozen pineapple,banana, and strawberries on my knee as I write this.  My best guess is it is just some over-training stuff, possibly coming from a tight hamstring.  It’s on the wrong side to be IT band issues, I’ve had that before and I know how that feels.
